Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there,
I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight
On the ripened grain.
I am the gentle Autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there.
I did not die.
My Spirit is still alive...

Hopi prayer

NICKNAME: Faye.

NAMESAKES:
Two nieces, Ashley Elizabeth from brother Tony and Kassandra Faye Lynn from brother Gene.

As I didn't ever have the chance to know my sister I asked our Mom for some information so I could know the type of little girl my sister was; I was born just over a year and a half after her death.  Information is as follows:

CHILDHOOD FAVORITES

  • Color - yellow.
  • Toy - telephone with Mickey Mouse talking, blue or black in color.
  • Song - Faye loved to sing Jesus Loves Me. Loved Mom to sing her Twinkle Twinkle Little Star or The Old Rugged Cross.
  • Favorite Food - loved macaroni and casseroles. No specific favorite.
  • Favorite Dessert - soft vanilla ice cream.
  • At the playground - swings. She would say, "push me Mommy. Higher. Higher."
  • Shoes - white or black sandals with straps.
  • Clothing - loved dresses.  Light yellow dress with white collar was her favorite.
MOM'S FAVORITE SHARED MEMORIES:Faye loved to help wash dishes and I would tie the apron around her, at her insistence in a certain way, just so she could help.  Another time she picked me some flowers, orange lilies, she had some saved for Grandma (Batiste) but insisted she was giving me the best of the flowers.  Faye was very intelligent and bright for her age and truly loved singing; her voice in itself was that of an angel.
